THC Drug Test Strip
Conduct a rapid THC diagnostic with our THC Drug Test Strip. With marijuana legalization, THC use has increased in recent years and will likely continue. This means more THC tests will be needed. If you’re a doctor or clinician, you never want to be short on THC test strips. Having a low inventory can lead to a dangerous backlog, the death knell for any medical establishment.
What is THC?
Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a psychoactive chemical found in cannabis plants. It can be consumed by smoking or ingesting edibles such as gummies and brownies. THC creates the “high” sensation often associated with marijuana. It should not be confused with cannabidiol, also known as CBD.
THC affects the body’s motor functions while causing hallucinations and anxiety attacks. Physical changes may include dilated pupils and a slower reaction time. Despite changing cultural perceptions of marijuana, it remains a concern for employers and legal authorities. Workplace policies usually prohibit THC consumption out of concern for compliance and productivity. Though the drug’s effects last a few hours, traces of it can stay in the user’s urine for up to a month.
Testing for THC
These test strips go inside a test cup and are to be inserted firmly. Have the patient urinate into the cup in a private bathroom, with the strip inside the container, and seal the cup so no contaminants spoil the sample. Spoiling the sample with air or dust may return either a false positive, negative or a no result. In the latter case, you’d need to redo the test.
On the test cup, write the patient’s name on the label along with their contact information. Once the test is complete, inform the patient or relevant parties about the result.
